Share your views on proposed changes to our CPD guidance and Peer Discussion Review template
We’re aiming to make certain elements of the CPD scheme more manageable following feedback from osteopaths.
Osteopaths who completed our CPD survey 2024 highlighted challenges they faced with the CPD scheme. Many told us the Peer Discussion Review (PDR) template is complicated and time-consuming, and that guidance for the scheme is repetitive.
Listening to this feedback, we are suggesting changes to make the form and guidance much easier to use, as well as strengthening requirements around communication and consent to include activities related to professional boundaries, and equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging.
We are specifically inviting views on:
- Whether updates to the PDR form make this easier to use
- Whether the guidance and/or PDR form could be improved in any way
- The addition of CPD in relation to professional boundaries and equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging (EDIB) as a mandatory element of the scheme
We welcome views from all, including osteopaths, educators, students and key partners across the profession.
By taking part in the consultation, those responding will be able to share their views, clarify whether they agree with our proposed changes, and help identify further changes to support osteopaths to complete their CPD more easily.
The deadline for responses to this consultation is Monday 3 March 2025

We are holding two interactive online sessions to discuss and share the proposed changes to the Draft CPD Guidance and Draft PDR template.
Join Steven Bettles (Head of Policy and Education) and Stacey Clift (Senior Research and Policy Officer) to discuss the proposed changes and have the chance to provide us with your feedback on the Draft CPD Guidance and Draft PDR template which can count towards your CPD, including the pre-reading that will be required.
