GOsC Annual Report and Accounts published

We have published our latest Annual Report and Accounts, providing an overview of our work and our financial report for 2025-26.

This latest report, which sets out our work during 2025-26 including how we are continuing to regulate and develop osteopathy, has now been laid before the Houses of Parliament. 

It reflects on a year of delivery for the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC), including building stronger communication channels with osteopaths, and taking steps to modernise our systems and services.

The Annual Report is published at an important time for the profession, as we are also consulting on proposed changes to registration fees. We recognise that any increase in fees is significant, and that osteopaths are right to expect clear information about how their fees are used.

Registrant fees fund our core work: developing the profession, maintaining the Register, protecting the osteopathic title, setting and upholding professional and education standards, supporting continuing professional development, handling concerns about practice, and helping to maintain public confidence in osteopathy.

The Annual Report also sets out the steps we are taking to manage costs and use our resources responsibly, including strengthening financial planning, reducing expenditure and modernising the way we work. Council has also carefully considered the future of the headquarter building as part of wider work to support financial sustainability.

In her introduction, Council Chair Jo Clift reflects on her second year as Chair and the importance of continuing to engage with the profession, patients, students and partners. She also highlights plans for Council to be more visible and accessible, including through visits to osteopathic education providers and further engagement with osteopaths over the coming months and years.

The report also shows how we are investing in the future of regulation, including work to improve accessibility, strengthen our digital systems and support clearer, two-way communication. This includes improving our registration systems, developing a new website and continuing to improve how information and guidance are made available to osteopaths, patients and the public.
