Support and Wellbeing
For all osteopaths, especially those new to practice, building networks and communities with other osteopaths and health professionals can really support ongoing personal and professional development.
Osteopathic education, training and practice is rewarding, with research showing a high level of patient satisfaction, but it is a challenging profession. Finding support and building networks can help osteopaths to thrive, both personally and professionally.
Like all health professionals, osteopaths and students have a responsibility to seek support and advice from others to provide high quality care to patients and practise safely. Also, to provide support to colleagues.
The CPD scheme involves professional discussion with a peer – known as the Peer Discussion Review – because colleagues play such an important role in building good practice.
