We require that osteopathic education providers have appropriate entry requirements including competence in written and spoken English, but you will need to check with each provider in relation to your own qualifications, experience and circumstances.

Recognised qualifications

Osteopathy courses offered by educations providers in the UK must be recognised by the GOsC. Only graduates with a ‘recognised qualification’ can apply to the GOsC for registration so they can practise as an osteopath in the UK.

What you’ll study

We don’t publish a set curriculum, but we do require that Recognised Qualifications deliver graduates that meet our Graduate Outcomes, and that providers meet our Standards for Education and Training. The Graduate Outcomes are designed to help students demonstrate that they meet the Osteopathic Practice Standards before they graduate. The Standards for Education and Training set clear requirements as to the resources, culture and environment within which osteopathic education providers should deliver their education and training programmes. Funding and financial support

The education providers will be able to provide information on financial support for course fees and maintenance.

The Osteopathic Foundation and individual training institutions may be able to provide information about sources of funding for course fees and maintenance. Osteopathic Foundation is aimed at support for later year students.
