For students in their final year of education, who are preparing to graduate and join the Register, knowing what to do after before and after graduation can feel a bit overwhelming.
As the regulator, we keep the Register of osteopaths up to date which includes getting those who have graduated registered so you can start practising. It is important to remember that you cannot start seeing patients or practising osteopathy until you are on the Register and insured properly. Find out more about how to register.

Once you are on the Register, your first three year CPD cycle will begin. You’ll be expected to do 90 hours of CPD across the three years, 45 hours of which will need to be learning with others. We have lots of guidance and resources to support you to get going with your CPD.

Students may also want to start thinking about building a professional network of other healthcare professionals and osteopaths, which can really help newly qualified osteopaths in the first couple of years in practice. Find out more about peer support networks.
