Sale of Osteopathy House completed

Building in London

Osteopathy House has now been sold and the General Osteopathic Council has moved to new, smaller location in London.

Following our update on 7 July 2026, we can confirm that the sale of Osteopathy House was completed on 31 July 2026. The sale marks an important milestone in our move from our former headquarter building.

The building was sold to The Nautical Institute for £3.3 million. As a charity, we obtained independent assessment to confirm that the sale reflected market value and that we are using our resources appropriately in line with our responsibilities.

We have now moved to smaller and cheaper premises nearby. Our new address is: General Osteopathic Council, Unit A, Arc House, 82 Tanner Street, London, SE1 3GN.

All email addresses and contact telephone numbers remain the same. Our contact details are available on our website.

The proceeds from the sale are currently held as reserves by the General Osteopathic Council. Our Council agreed a reserves policy in July 2026 of eight to nine months’ running costs, which is around £2.25 million. Our current reserves are sitting above this level.

Council will consider at its November meeting how best to use the additional reserves to support the GOsC’s statutory duties to develop and regulate osteopathy for the purpose of public protection. Osteopaths, students and the public are welcome to attend our Council meetings, online or in person, to observe our public discussions. To come along or find out more, email us at council@osteopathy.org.uk

Further information about our financial position is included in our Annual Reports and Accounts, published every year on our website after being laid before Parliament. Our Accounts for 2025-26 will be published formally in the autumn and were presented to the public Council meeting in July 2026. Read the July Council papers.
