GOsC seeking views in three consultations

The GOsC has launched three consultations and are seeking osteopaths’ views on a number of issues:

• the circumstances in which it might be appropriate to dispose of a complaint without the need to hold a hearing: Consensual disposal under Rule 8.
• the length of time that the GOsC should continue to publish details about an osteopath’s fitness to practise history, including information about conditions and suspensions imposed by the Professional Conduct Committee: Fitness to practise publication policy.
• new detailed draft guidance on the requirements for obtaining consent, which is intended to supplement the information currently set out in the Osteopathic Practice Standards: Obtaining consent supplementary guidance.
