GOsC continues to meet all 24 Standards of Good Regulation in latest Professional Standards Authority review

The PSA reviews each of the statutory health and social care regulators every year to assess whether they are meeting its Standards of Good Regulation and are protecting the public.

The Standards of Good Regulation are designed to ensure that the regulators are protecting the public but also promoting confidence in health and care professionals. The Standards cover the regulators’ four core functions: setting and promoting guidance and standards for the profession; setting standards for and quality assuring the provision of education and training; maintaining a register of professionals, and taking action where a professional’s fitness to practise may be impaired.

We are pleased to report that the GOsC has continued to meet all 24 of the Standards of Good Regulation for the ninth year running.

“The report highlights some of the areas where we are engaging with other healthcare regulators to share learning and development and our joint activity in thematic reviews and associated research, as well as recognising the work we are doing to move to a more risk-based approach to quality assurance of osteopathic education.”
