If you are registered with the General Osteopathic Council, you can access the IJOM Plus package for free.

IJOM Plus gives you access to a range of journals that can support your research, learning and CPD.

The journals are available through ScienceDirect, an online platform for peer-reviewed research published by Elsevier.

How to access IJOM Plus journals

You need to be logged in to the o zone to access the journals.

  1. Log in to the o zone.
  2. Go to the o zone journals page.
  3. Choose the journal you want to read.
  4. If ScienceDirect asks you to enter an email address or create an account, select Continue anonymously.

You do not need to create a ScienceDirect account to read the journals.

Choosing an article to read

After you select a journal, you will be taken to the journal page on ScienceDirect.

Downloading an article

When you find an article you want to read, look for the Download PDF option.

The PDF will usually open in a new browser tab. From there, you can:

Creating journal alerts

You can set up alerts on ScienceDirect if you want to be told when new issues or articles are available.

To do this, select Sign in to set up alerts on the journal page.

ScienceDirect will ask you to create an account before you can receive alerts.

Journals included in IJOM Plus 

International Journal of Osteopathic Medicine

You have access all IJOM content from 2005 to present issue.

The International Journal of Osteopathic Medicine is a peer-reviewed journal that provides for the publication of high-quality research articles and review papers that are as broad as the many disciplines that influence and underpin the principles and practice of osteopathic medicine. Particular emphasis is given to basic science research, clinical epidemiology and health social science in relation to osteopathy and neuromusculoskeletal medicine.

The Lancet

The Lancet is the world’s leading independent general medical journal. The journal’s coverage is international in focus and extends to all aspects of human health.

The Lancet publishes the original primary research and review articles of the highest standard. The Lancet is stringently edited and peer-reviewed to ensure the scientific merit and clinical relevance of its diverse content.

 

Musculoskeletal Science and Practice (formerly Manual Therapy)

 Volumes 27 onwards (2017-present issue)

Musculoskeletal Science & Practice, international journal of musculoskeletal physiotherapy, is a peer-reviewed international journal (previously Manual Therapy), publishing high-quality original research, review and Masterclass articles that contribute to improving the clinical understanding of appropriate care processes for musculoskeletal disorders. The journal publishes articles that influence or add to the body of evidence on diagnostic and therapeutic processes, patient-centred care, guidelines for musculoskeletal therapeutics and theoretical models that support developments in assessment, diagnosis, clinical reasoning and interventions.

Spine Journal

Volumes 10 onwards (2010-present issue)

The Spine Journal, the official journal of the North American Spine Society, is an international and multidisciplinary journal that publishes original, peer-reviewed articles on research and treatment related to the spine and spine care, including basic science and clinical investigations. It is a condition of publication that manuscripts submitted to The Spine Journal have not been published, and will not be simultaneously submitted or published elsewhere.
