Information for the press

Press are welcome at hearings of the Professional Conduct Committee, but they should be aware that seating is limited and it may not always be possible to accommodate all those who wish to attend.

Occasionally, in exceptional circumstances, an application will be granted for some or all of the hearing to be held in camera (without press or public present).

Cameras, camcorders and audio recording equipment are not permitted, and mobile phones should be turned off. Press and public are requested not to talk or move around during the hearing.

The charges facing an osteopath can be provided on request after they have been read out near the start of proceedings. If you have any questions or require further information you should speak to the hearings officer or clerk, but only when they are busy with the smooth running of the hearing.

Further information about attending hearings is available in our leaflet Information about Hearings for the Public and Press.
