Representatives of regional osteopathic groups to meet with GOsC

11 March 2013

Representatives of the UK’s Regional Osteopathic Societies have been invited to meet with the GOsC Friday 15 March.

Regional Communications Network to meet at Osteopathy House

Representatives of the UK’s Regional Osteopathic Societies have been invited to meet with the GOsC at Osteopathy House on Friday 15 March.

The meeting will be chaired by GOsC Chair Alison J White and will update representatives on:

  • continuing fitness to practise: the evaluation of the revalidation pilot and the CPD review
  • developments at NCOR
  • and developing the profession: progress since the 2012 regional conferences and the development agenda.

In the afternoon small workshops will consider the role of regional groups in developing the profession.

These meetings provide an invaluable forum for the exchange of ideas and information between representatives of the regional osteopathic groups, Council members and GOsC staff.

Regional groups encourage communication among osteopaths and help to provide opportunities for continual professional development. The regional network contributes to the development of osteopathic standards and policy initiatives and currently consists of more than 30 regional societies throughout the UK and Ireland.
