GOsC invites patients and public to join new Partnership Group

3 January 2012

If you are interested in developing information for patients, and in standards of osteopathic practice, let us know.

The GOsC is setting up a Patient and Public Partnership Group to enable us to work more closely with patients to improve services, better protect the public and provide patients and the public with the information they need about osteopathic practice.

Applications are invited from those who would like to be involved in developing information for patients and the public, and are interested in standards of osteopathic practice.

Members of the group will

  • provide a patient and public perspective to inform our work
  • assist in developing GOsC communication materials.

The group will be mainly a ‘virtual group’, communicating with us via email or post. Those who wish to join who do not have access to the Internet can make comments by post or over the phone.

Group members need to be more than 18 years old to join the group and there is no upper age limit. Applicants should either be osteopathic patients or have an interest in osteopathic practice. We will be looking to include members from all four UK countries.

Membership of the Patient and Public Partnership Group is a voluntary position. On completion of a project, a £25 gift voucher will be awarded to three participants who have made a contribution, selected at random.

For further information, read our information guide to the Patient and Public Partnership Group or visit the Patient and Public Partnership Group page on our website. To apply to join the group, contact Sarah Eldred, Communications Manager on 020 7357 6655 x245 or email seldred@osteopathy.org.uk.
