We are inviting views on the draft Practice Note: Cancellation of Hearing under Rule 19, which is intended to guide the Professional Conduct Committee (PCC) through the appropriate procedure which will in turn help to ensure the PCC adopt a consistent approach to applications, while preserving the safeguards built into Rule 19.

The General Osteopathic Council’s 3rd annual continuing professional development (CPD) evaluation survey is now open and presents a chance for osteopaths to reflect on how prepared they are for the new scheme.
General Osteopathic Council removes Elizabeth Treadaway from its Register of osteopaths
7 March 2019
The GOsC’s Professional Conduct Committee (PCC) has found that Ms Elizabeth Treadaway, who practised in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, had been guilty of unacceptable professional conduct. The PCC decided, at its hearing on 5 February 2019, that the appropriate sanction would be to remove Ms Treadaway’s name from the Register of osteopaths.
The General Osteopathic Council removes Muhammad Mirza from its Register of osteopaths

On 10 January 2019, the General Osteopathic Council’s Professional Conduct Committee (PCC) found Dr Muhammad Mirza, of Walthamstow, London, had been convicted of a criminal offence that was materially relevant to his fitness to practise.
How touch is communicated in the manual therapy context

At its meeting on 21 November 2018, the General Osteopathic Council decided that the Registrar should remove Shamim Akhtar from the Register of osteopaths.

On 2 November 2018, the GOsC’s Professional Conduct Committee (PCC) found Mr Max Charles, of Maidstone, Kent, guilty of unacceptable professional conduct and decided that the appropriate sanction would be to remove his name from the Register of osteopaths.
