GOsC announces new Chief Executive & Registrar

Tim Walker has been named as the new Chief Executive and Registrar of the General Osteopathic Council.

Tim Walker has been named as the new Chief Executive and Registrar of the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC).
Professor Adrian Eddleston, Chair of the GOsC said:

“We had a very strong field of candidates, and Tim has exactly the right skills, experience and personality for the post.”

Tim Walker joins the GOsC this Autumn from the General Medical Council (GMC) where he is responsible for external relations including the management of the GMC’s offices in Belfast, Cardiff and Edinburgh.

Before joining the GMC in 2007, Tim was Deputy Managing Director of Bell Pottinger Public Affairs. Previously he held posts working on regulatory matters at Turner Broadcasting UK, the Cabinet Office, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. He graduated in Computation from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology.

Tim Walker said:

“I am delighted to be joining the GOsC to help deliver its important programme of work to promote high standards of osteopathic healthcare and patient protection. I am looking forward to working with the GOsC’s staff, Council and registrants, to build on Evlynne Gilvarry’s extremely successful work as Chief Executive and Registrar over the past three years.”
