Two weeks left to respond to witness evidence consultation

16 September 2011

Consultation about how witnesses in GOsC fitness to practise hearings present their evidence closes on 30 September.

The current consultation on the way in which witnesses in GOsC fitness to practise hearings present their evidence closes on 30 September 2011. We welcome all views on this important issue.

Currently, witnesses present their evidence by reading out their written statements. The GOsC’s Professional Conduct Committee (PCC) is proposing to change that and is consulting interested parties and stakeholders about the proposed change.

Full information about the proposal and the arguments for and against it are set out in the consultation document Change to the Notice to Osteopaths and Legal Representatives: consultation.

The consultation and consultation documents, including a response form, are available on the live consultations page of this website.

Responses will be considered by the PCC when the consultation period has ended and a summary of responses, showing how they have been taken into consideration, and the PCC’s eventual decision, will be available on this website.

If the PCC decides to go ahead with the change it will revise, and reissue, its Notice to Osteopaths and Legal Representatives, which will be available in the Complaints section of this website.
