GOSC osteopaths opinion survey 2012: survey findings published

In spring 2012 we surveyed all osteopaths on our Register.

Our aim was to get feedback from osteopaths about how we communicate with them, how they communicate with us and what we can do to improve the services we provide. Hard copies were sent to all registrants and there was the option to respond online.

Responses were received from 1,342 osteopaths, equivalent to 30% of the profession, which is a very high response rate for a survey of this kind.

We have now published the findings of the survey, and these are available in this website at www.osteopathy.org.uk/about-us/our-work/consultations-and-events/osteopaths-opinion-survey-2012

We have produced a commentary on the findings, which identifies action for the GOsC to take in response to the feedback obtained. We have also identified areas of professional development that might be led, more effectively, by osteopathic organisations other than the GOsC.

The findings and commentary went to the Council at its meeting of 10 October, along with a Council paper that includes information about the action to be taken.

Future plans such as the 2013-2016 GOsC Corporate Plan and a revised and updated Communications Strategy will be informed by the results of the survey.
