Osteopaths and students can now contact the GOsC using WhatsApp
22 January 2025
We want to make it easier for osteopaths and students to contact us following the findings of our Registrant and Stakeholder Perceptions research.
Our research found that osteopaths with more positive views of the GOsC tended to have more direct experiences with the organisation. In response, we have been looking for ways to improve how we work and engage with the profession, and to be more approachable.
WhatsApp provides an easy and fast way to contact us, either with texts or voice messages. By piloting the use of WhatsApp for osteopaths and students, we hope to not only make it easier to contact us but also to encourage more in the profession to come to us directly with their queries or suggestions.
Members of the GOsC staff team will be on hand to respond as soon as possible to messages received between 9am-5pm Monday to Friday. We aim to respond with the information required or, on some occasions, explaining what will happen next in order for us to find the answers needed.
Our Chief Executive and Registrar, Matthew Redford explains in more detail why we have launched our WhatsApp pilot in a recent blog.
We are asking osteopaths and students to continue to contact us through our usual channels with any questions they may have for example about their registration, o zone access details or fitness to practise cases they may be involved in, as we will not share any confidential or personal information on WhatsApp.
We will be using WhatsApp to respond to messages we receive but we will continue to use our other channels rather than WhatsApp for any general communication messages we send out to osteopaths or students. Messages received in Welsh, whether as texts or voice messages, will receive text responses in Welsh.
Osteopaths and students can contact the GOsC on WhatsApp on 020 7046 0406 from 9am-5pm Monday to Friday.
