New consultation on voluntary removal from the Register of osteopaths

1 September 2016

We are consulting on new guidance about the factors that the GOsC Registrar will take into consideration when an osteopath requests to be removed from the Register of osteopaths (voluntary removal) and would welcome your views.

A registrant can request removal from the Register of osteopaths at any time. This process is referred to as voluntary removal or resignation. The application for removal is usually straightforward and the removal can be carried out quickly.

However, where a registrant applying for removal is the subject of an ongoing fitness to practise investigation, the Registrar must take a number of factors into consideration before deciding whether to agree to the application or not.

The Draft Guidance on Voluntary Removal Applications sets out the factors the Registrar will take into account.

You can respond online or email or post a Word response form. The closing date is 30 November.
