Evaluation of the work of our Patient Involvement Forum is published
7 February 2025
The evaluation was carried out in 2023-24 and takes account of the experiences of forum members and GOsC staff members.
The forum has had a significant positive impact on the work of the GOsC and forum members were positive about their experience of being a member of the forum, although the evaluation also identified areas where improvements could be made.
As part of the evaluation we spoke to members of GOsC’s Patient Involvement Forum to understand the impact it has had for them and their experiences of working with us, listening to their suggestions for where we can make improvements. We then reflected on how the forum has contributed to our work.
The forum, which launched in 2020 and has been steadily growing, has had a significant positive impact on our work, ensuring their views are central. The work of the forum has helped us to ensure that the patient voice is central to the work that we do as regulator of osteopathy in the UK.
The evaluation shows that Since June 2021, patients have engaged in and shared their thoughts on 24 GOsC projects.
We will use the findings of the evaluation to reflect on strategically on how we continue to integrate the patient voice and allow forum members to have the same positive impact our work in future years.
