CPD consultation: have you sent us your views?

17 March 2015

Respond to the GOsC’s proposals for a new Continuing Professional Development scheme.

This consultation sets out the GOsC’s proposals for a new Continuing Professional Development (CPD) scheme that will provide assurance to the public of osteopaths’ continuing fitness to practise.

All the consultation documents and links to the online response surveys are available at http://cpd.osteopathy.org.uk.

The summary consultation document is aimed particularly at patients and the public and you can find it and send us your views at http://cpd.osteopathy.org.uk./documents/summary-consultation.

There is also a full consultation document that sets out the background and detail of our proposals and we welcome responses from everyone to either version of the consultation.

The proposals build on much that is familiar to osteopaths from the existing CPD scheme, for example undertaking 30 hours of CPD a year, but there are new elements proposed including a requirement for osteopaths to review their practice with a professional colleague. Many osteopaths already seek feedback and review their practice; these proposals seek to formalise that process throughout the profession.

The closing date of the consultation is 31 May 2015.
