Alison White reappointed as GOsC Chair

Alison White has been reappointed as Chair of the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) for a second term of four years, from 1 April 2016.

The reappointment was made by the Privy Council using a process conducted by the GOsC in line with standards set by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care.

Alison White said:

“I am absolutely delighted to have been re-appointed as Chair of the GOsC, and very much look forward to the challenges of leading the development and implementation of a new corporate plan, together with a streamlined Council, and continuing to play my full part in the regulation and development of the osteopathic profession.”

Alison White, who was appointed Chair of the GOsC in April 2012, is an experienced non-executive director and chair. In addition to her role as Chair of the GOsC she holds the following public appointments: Registrar of Consultant Lobbyists; Non-Executive Director of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency; Non-Executive Director of the Queen Elizabeth ll Centre; Member of the Audit Committee of the UK Statistics Authority; and Member of the Audit Committee of the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman.
