Jane Saunders
Jane has been working at the GOsC since february 2022. Here she tells us a little bit more about her and her role.
What do you do in your role
In my role, I support a wide range of HR functions across the employee lifecycle — from recruitment and onboarding to supporting wellbeing, development, and day-to-day staff queries. I work closely with managers and staff to ensure policies are applied fairly and consistently, and that everyone feels supported in their roles. I also help coordinate training, maintain HR records, and assist with projects that promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture. No two days are the same, which keeps it interesting and rewarding.
What opportunities does your role provide?
My role as a HR Administrator provides a great foundation for gathering experience in all aspects of HR. It also gives me the opportunity to build strong relationships across the organisation and develop skills in communication, organisation, and problem-solving. There’s always something new to learn, and the variety of work means I’m constantly growing and gaining experience that will support my long-term career in HR.
What is it like working for GOSC?
GOsC is a fantastic place to work. I really value being part of an organisation that creates a safe and supportive environment where everyone feels heard and respected. It's genuinely inclusive, with a strong culture of collaboration and openness. It’s a place where your contributions matter and where you feel like you're making a positive impact.
What would it surprise people to know about you?
Although I work in HR and spend a lot of time engaging with people, I’m actually quite introverted. I really enjoy quiet moments — whether that’s getting lost in a good book or podcast, or doing arts and crafts with my kids. It’s a side of me that not everyone expects, especially because I have quite a loud and outgoing personality.
