Erik Pohl
Erik Pohl joined GOsC as Senior Registration Officer in February 2024.
What do you do in your role?
In my role as Senior Registration Officer, I am responsible for processing payments and direct debits for osteopaths’ registration fees. I also support osteopaths who are looking to return to practise following time away from the Register.
What opportunities does your role provide?
Working in the Registration team has provided me with opportunities such as completing an excel training course and offering a hybrid working environment. This has allowed me to continue to look after my two young children while maintaining a good work/life balance.
What is it like working for the GOsC?
I have worked at the GOsC for over a year now and my experience working here has been very positive. There is a real emphasis on inclusion, diversity and professionalism as well as great communication between all the teams.
What would it surprise people to know about you?
I was born in Tasmania, Australia to Australian/Hungarian parents and moved to the UK in 2002. In 2009, I was given the opportunity to represent Hungary in the European T20 Cricket Championship. We played against other cricket ’heavy-weights’ such as Russia, Croatia and Bulgaria over the course of the tournament.
I have been playing double bass since I was 7 years old and still love playing whenever possible and am hoping to pass on my love of music to my two young children as to date neither of them seem to show any interest in cricket!
