We are currently recruiting for the following:

Osteopath Council members
We are looking for two osteopaths to join our Council, including one who lives or works mainly in Scotland. This is an opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction and scrutiny of the work of the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC).

The GOsC is a modern, inclusive, and innovative healthcare regulator and we consider diversity to be a strength. We wish to encourage applications from the widest possible field of candidates to help us reflect UK society. Note that these positions are only open to osteopaths.

Our Council is made up of five osteopath and five lay (non-osteopath) members. All appointments are subject to approval by the Privy Council in accordance with The General Osteopathic Council (Constitution) (Amendment) Order 2015.

You would be expected to commit no more than 18 days a year and you would be paid £7,800 a year. All Council meetings are held in London in-person. We pay reasonable travel and subsistence expenses which are incurred as part of this role. Appointment starts 1 April and is initially for up to four years.

Fitness to Practise Case Manager

Full time, permanent

£38,048 per annum plus excellent benefits

We are looking for someone who has recent experience of case management to join our busy team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for investigating and managing fitness to practise concerns and protection of title cases from initial receipt of a case to disposal following a final hearing (or case closure/prosecution), while adhering to our Key Performance Indicators.

You will be required to actively manage and progress investigations, draft witness statements and prepare for hearings. You will be empathic, demonstrating a high level of integrity including when dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.

This role reports directly to the Head of Fitness to Practise and is part of a team of seven.

We offer the flexibility to work remotely and from the London office. All staff are expected to work a minimum of four days in the office per month.

The GOsC regulates the practice of osteopathy in the UK and our overarching purpose is to help protect the public and patients, and to help ensure the highest standards in osteopathic practice.
