Share your views on an amendment to the Application for Registration and Fees Rules

3 September 2020

We are welcoming your views on proposed amendments to our existing set of rules – (Application for Registration and Fees) Rules 2000.

The aim of the consultation is to ascertain whether the rules should be amended to close an anomaly which means that an osteopath, who is out of clinical contact with patients for three months or more, might claim a reduced fee for the whole of their registration year, despite returning to practise for up to nine months in that same period. Council’s view is that this is unfair to those who are in practice all year and pay a higher fee as a result.

Under the proposed changes, osteopaths who are out of clinical contact with patients for more than three months will benefit from a reduced fee for the period they are not practising.

The deadline for responses to this consultation is Friday 23 October 2020.

You can send us your views by responding to our consultation online.
