GOsC committees hear updates on new CPD scheme and Osteopathic Practice Standards review

4 March 2016

Two of our committees met this week to consider a range of issues including oversight of the development of the new CPD scheme and the forthcoming review of guidance for students and osteopathic educational institutions on fitness to practise, and health and disability.

The Education and Registration and Osteopathic Practice Committees considered a number of other papers on 3 March, including:

  • CPD resources and case studies on communication and consent
  • Results of the 2015/2016 survey of new registrants on their experience of the registration process
  • Alignment of GOsC registration assessments with the European Directive on the Recognition of Professional Qualifications
  • Monitoring review of the course at the Surrey Institute of Osteopathic Medicine

The Osteopathic Practice Committee also received an update on the current review of the Osteopathic Pracice Standards.

The agendas and papers are available to read at http://www.osteopathy.org.uk/about-us/the-organisation/meetings/education-registration-standards-committee-papers/ and http://www.osteopathy.org.uk/about-us/the-organisation/meetings/osteopathic-practice-committee-past-papers/

The next meetings will be held on 16 June. Observers are welcome at the public sessions of the meetings but we do need advance notice as places are limited. If you would like to atend please contact the Council and Executive Support Officer, 020 7357 6655 x246 or email council@osteopathy.org.uk
