Change proposed to way witnesses in GOsC hearings give evidence

18 July 2011

GOsC Professional Conduct Committee seeks view of interested parties and stakeholders on proposed change.

Witnesses in GOsC fitness to practise hearings currently present their evidence to the hearing by reading out their written statements. The GOsC’s Professional Conduct Committee (PCC) is proposing to change that and is consulting interested parties and stakeholders about the proposed change.

Full information about the proposal and the arguments for and against it are set out in the consultation document Change to the Notice to Osteopaths and Legal Representatives: consultation.

The consultation and consultation documents, including a response form, are available on the live consultations page of this website.

The consultation closes on Friday 30 September 2011.

Responses will be considered by the PCC when the consultation period has ended and a summary of responses, showing how they have been taken into consideration, and the PCC’s eventual decision, will be available on this website.

If the PCC decides to go ahead with the change it will revise, and reissue, its Notice to Osteopaths and Legal Representatives, which will be available in the Complaints section of this website.
