2020-21 Fitness to Practise Annual Report published

14 January 2022

GOsC has published its latest fitness to practise report.

Our Fitness to Practise Annual Report 2020-2021 provides details of the decisions and any sanctions applied from the substantive hearings of the GOsC’s Professional Conduct Committee (PCC) concluded during the period 1 April 2020 to 31 March 2021.

The PCC hears cases concerning serious unacceptable conduct, incompetence or criminal convictions. If the Committee finds any such case well founded, it imposes an appropriate sanction on the osteopath.

As part of the GOsC’s programme to continually enhance its fitness to practise processes, this year’s report details a number of updates, including:

  • continuing adaptations we have made related to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic
  • key changes improving our guidance for screeners
  • our successful fitness to practise webinars which aim to demystify our processes for the profession

The annual fitness to practise reports provide guidance to osteopaths on the high standards of conduct and practice required to maintain registration. Read this year’s report
