A development agenda for the future of UK osteopathy

12 February 2013

The major osteopathy stakeholders, including the GOsC, have published a development agenda for UK osteopathy.

Developing the osteopathic profession

The group of osteopathy stakeholders, including the GOsC, that have been working together since the 2012 GOsC regional conferences, have published a joint statement A development agenda for UK osteopathy (February 2013).

This statement includes a ‘vision’ for the future and an outline action plan.

Following the meetings at the regional conferences, the stakeholder group, comprising representatives of the British Osteopathic Association, the Council for Osteopathic Educational Institutions, the General Osteopathic Council, the National Council for Osteopathic Research and the Osteopathic Alliance, met to discuss the emerging themes and how they could work together on a shared development agenda.

The stakeholders will continue to develop this agenda and would welcome feedback on their early thoughts on this important work set out in A development agenda for UK osteopathy.

In mid-March 2013, the stakeholders will be meeting representatives of regional osteopathic groups from across the UK to further discuss these plans for the development of the profession.
