Osteopaths under investigation: draft guidance

We have produced two new sets of guidance for osteopaths on the GOsC’s fitness to practise procedure and would welcome your views.

Documents to download:

The guidance

We have drafted two booklets which we plan to provide to registrants at the appropriate stage of a fitness to practise investigation.

The first booklet Fitness to Practise Complaints Procedure: Draft Guidance for Osteopaths explains the GOsC’s fitness to practise procedures generally and sets out what an osteopath needs to do if a complaint is made about them. This booklet will be provided to registrants at the point they are notified of a complaint.

The second booklet Draft Hearings Guidance for Osteopaths contains detailed guidance about preparing for and attending a hearing. This guidance document will be provided to registrants if their case is referred for a hearing.

These draft guidance documents form part of a set of support materials we are seeking to develop to assist osteopaths who are under investigation.
